Here is a list of my symptoms and history;
June 10 - fooled around with a guy. He said he was "clean" We did not have intercourse only oral sex.
I had no signs or symtpoms of anything until around July 5 when I was undergoing a HUGE amount of stress. I basically had burning in my vulva area.
July 24 - Go to gyno. They test for STD's Chlamydia, Trich, Gonorrea, and Vaginitis/Yeast Infection. All tests come back negative.
I'm still under stress and a few days ago I had sex and immediately afterward I felt a lot of pain/burning. I went to the bathroom and "opened up" my labia to find a cluster of swollen white bumps. They are on the left side and sort of follow the curve of my lip. They are somewhat painful but mostly because I keep looking and checking them out. It's been two days and they haven't done anything different. I looked at pics of herpes online and I'm not sure that is what I have. Primarily because they are not scattered and not blister-like. AND, they aren't noticeable unless you stretch the skin. When I do a normal exam down there you can't see them. Only when I stretch out the skin. But it is sore. Could I possibly be irritating a gland or something? Please help. I'm tired of going to the Dr. but think a visit will be necessary soon. Also, can stress and anxiety cause swollen glands like that and what do they usually look like?


Hi, I know one thing about getting tested...you can test negative for herpes and still have it...they have to get the swab at the right time. I remember I tested negative a couple times...but I persisted because I knew I had it. There are some pics of herpes on this site...it's worth checking it out.

Don't trust the online pictures. Most of them look nothing like the real thing, only over-dramatic versions. Getting a culture swab at the doctor is your best bet.


There is actually a blood test to determine if you have herpes. I suggest that you or anyone who suspects they have herpes just get that test.
In my opinion though it doesn't sound like herpes to me. It does sound like it needs to be checked by a doctor tho. Please don't wait get it checked out so you can get the treatment you need for whatever it is.

I too found myself in same position, i was under an extreme amount of stress at the time, had oral sex with my partner of many years, and had the same symptoms you describe. went to the docs totally horrified when given the diagnosis. . . . . . . . herpes.......
it turns out that yes you can contract this nasty virus through having oral sex ! its rare but it does happen . its called type 1.
me and him were told that becouse he has facial cold sores ........ colds etc he carries the virus......... unfortunatly !! thats how it was transmitted.
i now make an effort not too get tooooooo stressed , or run down becouse now that i have it i no i dont need to have sex to get an outbreak.
im not saying you do have it but sounds like it to me. u need to go to the doctors when you actually have it for swabs alternatively go for a blood test.
i sincerly hope you do not have this condition, its nasty and painful but if you do there are plenty of websites that will help you to alleviate the problem. good luck.


It's too bad there's not more protection for the herpes virus. They've got something for everything else. I know this stuff dormates in the liver. Have you tried a colon/ liver cleanse????

how precise does the swab time have to be do you know?


When it comes to the swab the virus has to be on the skin at the time and might come up negitve you may have already had the virus from a previous sexual incounter.
