Answer:

Sounds like you need a second opinion.

Rule #1:
If you feel like crap, and it doesn't go away, there's probably something wrong, it's not YOUR fault if the doctor can't (or won't) find it.
Rule #2:
Some doctors seem to think that we little folk will follow blindly with whatever they suggest.
EDUCATE YOURSELF!
Stuff as much informatioin about Fibromyalgia, and the related diseases and syndromes, into your brain as you can!!

Google is your friend! Research, talk to other doctors (in particular a rhumetologist, and endcrinologist, also get to a neurologist)

Hope this helps, and if you need anything, just ask, and I'll give you my email.

Answer:

I was diagnosed with Epstien Barr virus in 1984. I was sick for many many months and was seen by many doctors prior to having this diagnoses, Since then I have gotten much better however at times I have had relapses and they can last for weeks and seem to be triggered by stressful events I am currently in this place and have felt bad for a few weeks. After being diagnosed the first time I went for a second opinion at Stanford they told me I did not have EBV and later that what I had might be Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I am also a recovering cancer patent and watch my health carefully

Answer:

I too suffer from chronic pain every day in my neck back, shoulders and some tmes in my armsand I'm only 27. I been diagnoised with fibromyalgia .A term used to describe a wide range of chronic muscle problems. I know how you feel it is really hard to have to live with the pain every day. With the help of my doctor and my friend who is a massage therapist I have learned to manage it alot bettter. I would also suggest to find a doctor who practices natural healing with diet not ones that just want to cover up your symptoms with drugs. Not to say that medicine is bad because I take pain killers daily but the food we eat can have a huge part in muscle inflammation and pain. Finding a good massage therapist is very important too. I'm not sure about you but i know a lot of my pain is caused by trigger points. they are knots in in the muscles that cause the muscles to shorten which causes pain and stiffness. They can be all over your body. In oder to release the knots you have to see a massage therapist that does deep tissue massage and who knows about trigger points. There are a lot of sites that tell you to do self treatment but don't. Trigger points have toxins in them and they have to be properly dained out of you body or else they will stay in and cause pain. also as hard as it is i have to exercise and it seems to help . before the therapy I was in a whole lot worse pain than I have now. my first session of trigger point therapy i had about 60 trigger points on my neck , back, and shoulders. Now don't have half as many. And to let you know that it is very painful when you get this type of massage but is worth it . You will also fell pretty sick the next few days from the toxins coming out and you have to drink a whole lot of water to flush them out. I hope this info help in some way. God bless.

Answer:

Doctor's only "practice" medicine because it is never exact. What you've described sounds an awful lot like lupus. I am being screened for it right now; I have some of the same symptoms you do. Unfortunately, doctors can't be 100% sure about lupus. It may take years for them to diagnose it properly...so much for early detection. No matter what your doctor says, keep going back. Pursue this. Something is obviously wrong. Good luck and God bless.
