What do you do to spoil your pets rotten?
Question: Despite the fact that I have a Drinkwell pet drinking fountain that my two cats use, Sabrina also insists on drinking the tap water from the bathroom sink faucet. Because I didn't want to just let the water run, I bought some paper Dixie cups and filled them up so she could drink from them. Now she's gotten used to have a cup of water on the bathroom counter at all times (which isn't that big a counter, believe you me). She'll drink from it while it's sitting there, but prefers that I hold the cup over the sink for her. However, I didn't like throwing away those Dixie cups every few days; I thought it was a waste. So I bought some small clear plastic cups, figuring I could probably run them in the dishwasher and sterilize them (not that Sabrina is a stinky germy creature, but, well, I'm a little anal about certain things). However, the plastic cups melted in the dishwasher. So today at the drugstore, I bought a package of tall polystyrene party cups just so my pwecious furbaby Sabrina could have a drink at the sink. :o Gee, I hope THOSE don't melt in the dishwasher. So, what does everybody else do to indulge and spoil their babies rotten? :D ETA: Strangely enough, when I put actual pet dishes filled with water on the floor next to the cat food, neither cat will drink the water. (That's why I got the pet drinking fountain in the first place.) Answer: Why not buy cups that say they're dishwasher safe on them/the packet? :p Answer: I will run the water in the bathroom sink for Mandi to drink from. I'll pretty much do anything to get her to eat...she's prone to hunger strikes...something to do with her thyroid problem, I think. I will open up 3-4 different cans of food, one right after the other to try and hit upon one that she feels like eating at that particular moment. I've made homemade cat food too. I tried raw chopmeat (sorry. luckily it didn't work). I don't know if all of this is considered spoiling since it pertains to her health. But I'd bet there are some pet owners out there who wouldn't bother. Answer: I have purchased kitty condos and soft kitty beds. And a variety of kitty toys that they never play with anyway. I'm not sure my guys are really spoiled rotten. My lifestyle only allows for certain indulgences. But I love them!! Answer: I bring Arwen outside during a false fire alarm and hold her tight while she tries to rip herself out of my arms cause the alarm scares her, and she's strictly an indoor cat. OK, I'm sure most here would do that....but no one else in my building did, and left their kids to sleep too.... :brood: Answer: I haven't got any pets which will probably cause my first dog to be completly ruined because I've been wanting one since I found out what dogs were. Whenever we babysat Lucky she would loose so much weight because we'd take her out to the countryside every weekend and to the beach 3 or so times a week on top of her normal walks. We spent so much money on toys and things for her too even though she'd only stay with us for 4-6 weeks. I even managed to spoil my hamster rotten, every week she got a sunday dinner in her little food bowl. Answer: My DH and I recently upgraded to a king-sized bed - so we would have more room for the Chihuahuas. They both travel in style, in their stroller and in their car seats. (I also have a Vera Bradly dog carrier, but it only holds one at a time, so i don't use it very often.) My dogs are terribly spoiled, but they don't seem to mind. Answer: I do so much =D Free stuff: Looong walks, with hideandseek, swimming, boat trips and much more included (dog) Spending the entire day (weekends) outside with my dog, or my rabbits. Other stuff: My dog has an expensive dog bed that says POSH with a crown next to it, my cat has designer food and water bowl, he got them for christmas, not cheap!, my dog gets a chewing bone each saturday, my cat has a burberry (!) collar.. Cant think of anymore right now :) Answer: Oh, the cat and the dog have their own shampoos (almost never used) and brushes, their own candybox and equipment box...My cat has one of those scrathcing things that have beds and posts that he can climb on, they both have too many toys that they never use, my rabbits has many bird toys in their cage to keep them occupied (mirrors, wooden balls). Almost all my money is spent on my pets. I'm only 15, so its not that much.
