chronic muscle inflammation
Question: I have random chronic muscle inflammation throughout my entire body. It is worse after periods of inactivity. i.e;sleeping, sitting on couch. Sometimes my ankles and feet hurt so bad I can barely walk. Other times, it could be my thigh, back, a wrist - there doesn't seem to be any reason for where it occurs. I am being treated for unknown elbow pain with PT, but am not getting better. When the muscles are really inflammed you can see how swollen they are. That is when they are very tender and cannot be touched. Any ideas? Anything would be so helpful. I am 36 year old mom and feel like I am 80 somedays. Answer: Hi! I am sorry to hear about your pain. I have had lupus for 11 years now and I was just diagnosed with chronic Muscle inflammation, I am having the same type of problems pain when i'm touched on any part of my body. Pain when sitting are standing, are just aching all over. I have to take 40 mg of prednisone and I am really scared that my muscles will totaly give out. My eyes are swollen and painful also. But I am a fighter. good luck with your illness. Answer: Thank you so much for your reply. I just received all my blood work back and am negative for lupus, lymes, thryroid, arthritis, etc. What kind of doctor did you see to receive your diagnosis for chronic muscle inflammation? I am seeing a Rheumatologist in a month. I am not sure if I should see a Neurologist also. Guess I will try one at a time and see what happens. Hope your medicine helps you. God bless and thanks again. Answer: I am sorry to hear about your cond. I am 44, I have, and am still going thru the kind of pain that you are. My pain and stiffness started about 20 yrs ago and has grown worse as i have gotten older. I have had 6 MRI's in the past 10 years as well as seen many docs. The way that i can best explain the way i feel most days are like falling off a 10 story building and then living, getting up and walking off in the pain and soreness that it would bring...I have been labeled with fibro. Just a name for something they cant find. its is real bad at times then somedays i will almost think i am better. I keep myself in shape and the last 2 years have been walking at least 1 mile a day as well as working out with weights. Its not easy to make this a goal but i had to do something. At least now when i am sore i have reason from working out. This has helped me and i am doing better than i was before. Good Luck Answer: Hello. I am 43 male that has had very similar chronic muscle pain/cramping/inflammation throughout my hips, back, and neck. As many of you have mentioned, you have had MRI's, CAT Scans, x-ray's, blood work, trigger point injections, etc., with out any clear cut answer for the cause. I have been going through this for about 15 years and it is getting worse and worse as I get older. I have been in the best shape of my life (a top triathlete and long distance swimmer) to my current state of a dad not doing much of anything (because of my worsening symptoms) except playing golf in pain. I don't have any answers for any of you. I am still trying to figure it out, along with the numerous doctors, therapist, etc. I have told them all that I would have no problem being a guinea pig for anything that would be considered cutting edge to get to the root of the problem. Unfortunately, no takers. If anyone can shed some light on the subject I am willing to listen. Please contact me off of this site at rghwtrswmr@hotmail.com. Thank you. Answer: I can TOTALLY relate to what you have been going through. After many doctors and still miserable a girlfriend of mine told me about a fish oil product that was not like anything on the market and it would not interfere with my other meds. What the heck............I was desperate! Well girl, let me tell you that I have been on it 2 months and almost completely pain free! No kidding! The product attacks inflammation, not covering up the symptoms. I have shared it with my parents for their arthritis and they are on it, I share it with anyone in pain! Anyhow, if you are interested, here is the link where I buy it on the web. You can get the free bottle first and try it for a month, I think they charge you $6.95 for the shipping only for that month. I think I pay $48 a month for it, I have it on autoship............I would pay $200 a month to feel the way I do now! LOL...................anyhow, you can get the free bottle and sign up for the autoship and if in one month you do not like it (you will) then cancel it. Also, the bottle says take 2 a day, I took 6 to start to get it in my system! I know people who have Crons Disease taking 15 a day! Again, no side affects. Well, I hope this info has helped you some, and I hope you will be like me..........free of pain! ***smile*** Email me anytime with questions: Take care! Answer: Responding to cyndiI have stiffness, aches and immobility in my shoulders, neck, back, and legs which causes me difficulty in walking, climbing up stairs, raising my arms, getting up from from chairs. I'm not sure what the diagnosis is. I have visited several doctors without any conclusive diagnosis. Any help would be highly appreciated. Moon Answer: As a person who has this condition some of you might want to check out polymyositis and dermatomyositis. Rare disease. It took 7 doctors and 14 months to get a diagnosis for me. Most time CK level is high but it can be normal. Only way to know for sure is muscle biospy. Unable to raise hands over head is one of the ways you can tell. Magnesium is a great help to those with muscle pain and cramps. Hope this might help someone. Answer: I am a 26 year old male but i feel like im on the verge of death sometimes. I should be fit, health full of energy and alive. But my muscle pain is stopping me from having a normal life. I can no longer brush my teeth or hold my 1 yr old nephew without feeling excruciating pain. I try to fight it but its too much sometimes. Like someone above mentioned my symptoms are worse when i do nothing or am inactive. At its worse i feel pain chewing. I have taken all sorts of painkillers and after having a E.M.G mumscle inflammation was detected and now im in for a possible muscle biopsy. If you can provide any cures please let me know at jav22@hotmail.com......Thank You
